Thermography
Whether it’s “seeing your pain”, or tracking thermal abnormalities which may indicate undering illness, Thermography can help you find answers, if the issue is physiological. Thermal imaging creates a temperature “map” of the body that is interpreted by a Medical Doctor to help identify sources and potential sources of pain, and monitor recovery following treatment. A baseline scan can provide a point of reference and help with pain management later on.
A medical thermal imaging camera converts infrared emissions from the skin's surface into electrical impulses that appear as a colour spectrum on a computer monitor. Colour variations show temperature differentials that may indicate existing or potential health issues.
At Valentus, a thermography scan is reviewed by a Medical Doctor who is also a trained as a Certified Thermologist. Issues that may be causing pain or discomfort are identified in a report and provided to the patient and to their health care provider on request. The report is available within 5 business days.
Valentus uses the only medical thermal imaging scanner specifically designed for the human body. Further assurance is provided with access to over 35 full-time Medical Doctors - all Certified Thermologists- who read and interpret Valentus Clinics’ Thermography scans.
The list is long and includes: artery inflammation, nerve damage, arthritis, Reflex Sympathetic Disorder (RSD), back injuries, inflammatory issues, soft tissue injuries, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, sprains, stroke, dental issues including TMJ and infection, fibromyalgia, vascular disease, whiplash and more.
If you’ve been living with pain that has been difficult to diagnose, thermography may aid in determining the cause of the pain. Understanding the problem is the first step toward resolving it. A thermography report will help guide your medical professional’s decisions on next steps.
If you are under 40, mammography is not recommended. Thermography will provide you with information of value to your breast health, especially over time.
If you are over 40 and prefer a painless, non-invasive approach to monitoring breast health, thermography may be for you.
In combination, a Digital Breast Exam and a Thermography Scan enable safe, non-invasive, pain-free monitoring of both physiology and structure in the breast.
Thermography and/or a Digital Breast Exam can be used together with screening methods including mammography, ultrasound and MRI.
Thermography is a non-invasive diagnostic technique that produces an infrared image of your body's unique thermal "fingerprint" to reveal its physiological and metabolic processes and help in early detection, diagnosis and treatment.
Thermography can provide new information about where pain is really coming from, making it a useful tool in detecting fibromyalgia, myofascial problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, RSD, pinched nerves and many other issues that cause pain as well as underlying, symptomless conditions.
Thermography is also used to monitor breast health and is a non-invasive, painless way to track any changes in the breast over time.

Your medical history will be requested and included with your scan for the doctor's interpretation. You'll disrobe only as needed for the area being scanned. Your scan will take between 20 minutes and an hour, and the scan will be relayed directly to a computer. Your file will be prepared and uploaded for the doctor’s interpretation. You’ll get your results within a week in the form of a report that includes the scan images and you can have them forwarded to your medical professional if you choose.
Even if you're in great health, a baseline body scan can provide important information that lets doctors track potential problems as they develop. If you are injured or other issues arise a second scan will provide a basis for comparison and recovery.
At Valentus, our approach to healing is unique in that our doctors and health professionals work with a number of state-of-the-art, non-invasive technologies that are designed to stimulate the body's innate ability to heal itself. We are achieving remarkable results!
